Birthday dinner was held in the Harlan Skeels home in Marion honoring his father, LeRoy Skeels, on his birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eden, Mr. and Mrs. George Wood and family, all of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Chrystal and Marcia Moenk of Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Herren and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Skeels of Marion, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Skeels of Grand Junction, Colo, and Mrs. LeRoy Skeels and the honored guest, Mr. Skeels of Alburnett.Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Hartkemey-er, Stevie and Randy, of Cedar Rapids were Tuesday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Wright. During the evening they called in the Arlo Wright home near Troy Mills.Mrs. Emma Wassmer spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Peterson in Cedar Rapid.s and attended the Mother-Daughter banquet of their church.Daisy and Dorothy Millard were Sunday p. m. callers in the Orval Edaburn home near Toddville.Mr, and Mrs. T. E. Condon of Center Point called in the L, C. Miller home Saturday p. m.Mrs. Ethel Odland, Mrs. Margaret Hall from Fairfax and Mrs. Guy Hall called in the, Walter Ellsworth home near Coggon on Sunday afternoon.Mrs. Ada Frick spent Saturday p. m. in the George Thomas home in Central City.Mr. and Mrs, W. E, Powers were Sunday dinner guests in the Raymond Nietert h o m e near Springville.Mrs. Minnie Schenken, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Roberts and grandchildren, Randy and Julie Roberts of Marion, spent Sunday evening in the Herman Koch home.Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Skeels of Grand Junction, Colo., showed slides in the LeRoy Skeels home Wednesday evening. Forty-eight people were present.Mrs, Dwayne Tritle and children are spending two weeks in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Joseph Johnson at Akron, Iowa.Daisy and Dorothy Millard attended a picnic at the LeRoy Thomas home near Toddville Sunday,Mrs. Naomi Millard spent Sunday in the Orval Edaburn home near Toddville.Dr. and Mrs. H. E. Hanna, Bobbie, Jeanne, Billy and Marie, of Springville called in the Herman Koch home Sunday afternoon.Guests in the George Flitsch home Thursday evening were Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Skeels of Grand Junction, Colo., Mrs. Harlan Skeels of Marion and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Skeels.Mr. and Mrs. Byron A. Miller celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary Thursday evening.Callers during the week in the Elmer Moore home were Mr. and Mrs. K. Buresh, Mrs. Vera Karch and Norma, Vera Marie Moore of Cedar Rapids, Bertha Heffner of Midway, Mrs. William Wilson and Clarence Stahly.WhittierBible School Daily Vacation Bible School will be held in the Community building Monday morning June 2 to Friday, 6, starting at 9 a. m. for all day sessions.Each child from pre-kindergar-en through the 9th grade is invited to attend and bring a sack lunch. Qualified teachers have been secured to assist through the week.Rummage SaleRummage sale on May 22 was sponsored by the Community Ladies Aid. Over $100 was realized as profits at the end of the day.Next regular meeting will be June 12 with Celia Moore and Edith Elleyson as hostesses. AJma Gunderson will lead devotionals.
