The suit instituted by the father of (diaries Handheld who was shot at Hinsdale lust fall against M. A. Blakeslee of Olean, for damages under the Civil Damage Act, is set down for this week. The charge is that Mr. Blakeslee by selling Beers liquor on the day of the murder becomes responsible for the deed. It will be remembered that Beers obtained the liquor on the pretence that he wanted it for a sick horse. According to his own story part of the liquor was so used. As liquorwas also obtained at other places it is amatter of great doubt whether the responsibility can be fastened on Mr. Blakcs-lee or not. - -■ • * ■■■- .
