Slain Woman’s HusbandThe late husband of a woman slain in a Decatur motel over the weekend was well acquainted with numerous Athens businessmen.The victim was Mrs. Juanita Holland Acker, 41, whose husband, Cal, died of cancer three years ago. He was a Certified Public Accountant and was a close friend of several Athenians including Cecil Christopher, Leon Lindsay (now of Union Grove), Harold Lovvorn, Bob Bullington, W. W. Malone, Thomas G. The younger daughter, Kathy, 12, had spent the night with friends.A relative said a key to the motel room had been left underthe doormat for the daughterto gain entrance when she returned from her date.
