Local menarrestedin GraftonGRAFTON — Two Monongalia County residents were arrested by City Police early Sunday morning on charges of transporting copper wire without a bill ofsale.Ivan Daft, 33, of the Weirton Mine Road, was lodged in the Taylor County Jail Monday night, while his companion, a 17-vear-old juvenile from the Weirton Mine Road, was released in the custody of*rhis brother, according to Sheriff JamesFawcett.Fawcett said City Police stopped the two, driving in a pick-up truck, when they noticed that the truck did not have any license They checked the truck out, and uncovered a load of copper mine wire, Fawcett said, but Daft did not have a bill of sale or explanation of where he got the wire.Both appeared before City Police JudgeRichard Bord. Daft was fined $300 and sentenced to 10 days in the county jail, while the juvenile was remanded to hisbrother’s custody, Fawcett saidHe indicated that Daft is also being heldfor Barbour Countv authorities
