Six Months in Jail for AssaultMichael Gene Smith, 22, 309 First street, was sentenced to serve six months in the Lee county jail when he appeared before Judge W. L. Huiskamp in the district court here today and pleaded guilty to a chargeI of assault with intent to inflict bodily injury.The information against Smith was filed by Deputy County Attorney Thomas E. Tucker. I Smith was scheduled to have been tried on the charge in district court here June 20.J He and his brother, GeraldI Lee Smith, 18, also of 309 First. street, were charged with as-II saulting George Reeder, 35, 310 Seventh street, in the 600 blockr of Seventh street the early ; morning of May 8.A postal employe, Reeder was ‘ making a delivery to the bus JI depot when the alleged incidentoccurred.i\t Gerald Lee Smith is also facing a charge of assault with in-3 tent to inflict bodily injury. He . is free on $250 bond. His trial date is June 14.
