BOY S PRANKResults in His Arrest byDetectivesRaymond Dean, a little ten-year-old fellow, son of George Dean, was arrested this morning by Erie detectives, Fenstermaker and Edge-worth, on a charge of malioious destruction of property. On Wednesday young Dean was playing near the C. E. water tank, when a freight train was pulling slowly on to a sidetrack. The boy, just for fan, ran up and pulled the draw bar which controls the emergencybrake. The train was stopped instantly and out in two, ruinningthe air hose, breaking the bar anda large knuckle in the engine andcausing twenty-tive dollars’ damage. The boy had learned the trick from a brakeman while living at Van Buren, but said he didn’t know it would hurt anything. He admitted his guilt and said he was willing to serve » jail sentence for one week as a punishment for his carelessneess.
