BOY S PRANKResults in His Arrest by DetectivesRaymond Dean Cut a Train Causing Some Damage—Charged With MaliciousDestruction.Raymond Dean, a little ten-year-old fellow, eon of George Dean, was arrested this morning by Erie deteolives, Fenstermaker and Edge-worth, on a charge of malioious destruction of property. On Wednesday yonng Dean was playing nearthe C. E- water tank, when a freight train was pulling slowly on to a sidetrack. The boy, just for fun, ran up and pulled the draw bar which controls the emergencybrake. The train was stopped instantly and out in two, ruinningthe air hose, breaking the bar anda large knuckle in the engine and causing twenty-live dollars’ damage. The boy had learned the trick from a brakeman while living at Van Buren, but said he didn’tknow it would hurt anything. He admitted his guilt and said he was willing to serve a jail sentence for one week as a punishment for his crelessneess. Prosecutor Moron had a call to Kirkland townsh p and the case was postponed for a day or two, the toy being sent home until wanted.
