On Wednes- ? day young Dean was playing near 1 the C. E. water tank, when a ® freight train was pulling slowly on to a sidetrack, The boy, just for ^ fun, ran up and pulled the draw * bar which controls the emergencybrake. The train was stopped in *sfcantly and cut in two, ruinning Ithe air hose, breaking the bar and a large knuckle in the engine and causing twenty-tive dollars1 damage. The boy had learned the trick from a brakeman while living c at Van Buren, but said he didn't c know it would hurt anything. He admitted his guilt and said he was {^ willing to serve a jail sentence for one week as a punishment for his carelessneess.
