They touud thata very large and heavy trunk hadbeen removed. Officer Perez came up and thought he would search a vacant lot opposite the house, aud there saw a man, who rau off, The officer fired some shots at him, but did not stophim. The trunk was found, unopened, but the lock tampered with, In the trunk was some money, about $800, and other valuables.
