SS TrooperAdmits KillingGI on StretcherDACHAU, May 24 (AP)—TwoAmerican soldiers and a wounded comrade they were carrying on a stretcher were shot down from the rear by SS troops, the German who killed the wounded man said in a statement read at the Malmedytrial today. 'The story of the slaying concluded the 16-page statement by 20-year-old Gustav Sprenger, who yesterday told of shooting American war prisoners at the Malmedy crossroads where 71 bodies were later found.Sprenger is one of 74 SS officers and men charged with slaying and torturing unarmed American war prisoners and Belgian civilians.A comrade, Sprenger said, ‘-fired into the two men who-were carrying the stretcher” and after they fell to the ground, “I then shot thewounded American soldier who wason the stretcher suffering with abad wound in the right upper leg.
