This morning’s drug raids were the first in Otero County for New Mexico State Police Lt. Ray Suazo, but not the first overall for the 17 year veteran.Otero drug raid first for SuazoSuazo, a native of Santa Fe, was recently promoted to the rank and transferred to Alamogordo after serving the last seven years in the criminal division which, among other things, conducts undercover and special investigations.He said he was pleased to see the good relations between departments at this morning’s operation, something he termed an “assest” for all the departments.Ray SuazoMarried with two children, Suazo said he and the newly appointed Capt. Jim Allison of the Alamogordo office had worked together before when Allison was “across the hall,” in Santa Fe working in the narcotics division.Suazo said his family would be moving to Alamogordo sometime in July.
