The Lew-isburg Chronicle says:—“We are pained to learn that Thomas George, son of Col. Wm.| George, is strongly suspected of conducting the negroes from their master. lie was with them, we uudertand, the whole way to where they were captured, paid their bills on the j way, and represented that he was going to j Kanawha to hire the negroes out. He was also with them when they were arrested, but escaped from legal arrest. Young George is not yet twenty years of age, we believe.’’
