ntif:ubcIRoy Ledeome, the boy murderer, of Wirt county, was sentenced to 18 years in the pen by J p Judge Moss. In writing up the argument of the case the Dispatch News had the following to j say of our young friend, Albert Smith: Attorney Albert Smith opened for the defense, and made a strong plea. He is young and inexperienced, but showed remarkable ability. lie called * the attention of the jury to the fact that not scintilla of evidence had been produced to show that the boy had killed Kjrkendall. ji He said that Dr. Camden admit- , ted that the anesthetics admin- t istered to Kirkendall brought on death, probably two or three , hours before he would have succumbed to the wound.
