DEAD IN RICE SACKTh« 7-Year-Old Son of WealthyTokyo Man VanishedFour Days Ago.SETS OFF PUBLIC CLAMORSterner Punishment Urged for Abductor Who Had HikedRansom Demand.Tokyo, May 19.tAP)—Thrkidnaped 7-year-old son of awealthy Tokyo leather goodsdealer was found dead today-—his body stuffed in a ricesack inside an abandoned automobilePolice said they believed Masaki Ozeki was murderedbut withheld their official verdict until after an autopsy. The boy's lips were battered and his face bloodied.A warrant w'as issued for the arrest of the owner of theabandoned car, a 32-vear-olddentist. The car w^as found ina Tokyo suburb.Police identified the dentist as Shigehisa Motoyama and said he recently separated from his wife, began living with another woman and wasreported to be short ofmoney.Although kidnaping is not unusual in Japan, kidnap-murder cases are rare. Public opinion was aroused, and demands were heard forheavier punishment of kidnapers. who are not subjectto capital punishment here.The child disappeared four days ago on his way home from school.The kidnaper, in phone and telegrams to theboy’s father, Susumu Ozeki. demanded 2 million yen ($5,555t ransom and warnedthe family not to tip off the police. A spot near Tokyo’s Meiji shrine was designated as a rendezvous for payment.Ozeki sent a maid, trailedby a detective, to the spot Tuesday but no one showedup. Yesterday the anonymous phone caller hiked the ransom to 3 million yen ($8,333) butagain did not show up to collect.Another call came later yesterday. ‘i'm tired of waiting,” said the caller. “Consider the life of the boy lost.”
