The boy's lips were battered and his face bloodied.A warrant w'as issued for the arrest of the owner of theabandoned car, a 32-vear-olddentist. The car w^as found ina Tokyo suburb.Police identified the dentist as Shigehisa Motoyama and said he recently separated from his wife, began living with another woman and wasreported to be short ofmoney.Although kidnaping is not unusual in Japan, kidnap-murder cases are rare.
