C’rhm* In J^fkMon Towxi.hIiIji.Mr. George Harness, a prominent citizen of Jackson (cwDSliip, was assaulted by three young loughs Thursday night uuu nearly killed. From, what can be learned it seems that Harness recently appeared against the rascals as a witness j in a case wherein they were charged with | stealing chickens. This made them In-| dignaut and they sought revenge in a cowardly manner. After the assault they went to a stable owned by a gentleman named Martin and took possession of three good horses. They then disappeared and their present whereabouts ia i unknown. Mr. Harness states [that they tried to kill him, and left him us they thought for dead. Their names are Prank Wood and William and Alonzo Campbell, the oldest not being over 21 years of age. Harness was seriously hurt, but will recover.
