Renfroe of Lincoln will face a circuit court jury here Monday that will decide if he walks away a free man or hears once more the verdict “guilty”The minister was sentenced to a 10-vear prison term Feb 22, 1972, after a Talladega circuit court jury found him guilty of second-degree murder in the strangulation death of his young wife, Bettv Culver Renfroe almost a vearm T *earlier.But since then Renfroe's attorney, Lyndol Bolton, has won a round with the court of criminal appeals which ordered a new trial Bolton also has secured a change of venue which shifts the trial to Jefferson Countv.ACCORDING TO sources, Bolton has new evidence to support his 1972 trial statement that “I'm up here defending against a phantom killer 1 can’t find Former Sheriff Luke Brewer arrestedRenfroe June 30. 1971, six davs after the middle-aged Congregational Holiness minister told officers he found his wife's bodv on their kitchen floor when he returned to Lincoln from an automobile sales meeting in Anniston.
