May 17.—-Andrew Hay, colored, was killed by Walter Russell, also colored, this afternoon. It seems that Ray was intoxicated and kept cursing Rus-eell who finally Jerked out his knife and made a slash at Hay. The knife entered tne abdomen and made a terrible gash Kay staggered into a negro restaurantKl7im tn\hfell dead. Russell gave him-up to the officers and Is now in jail.
