The case may prove a homicide, depending on the pathologist’s findings which are due today, authorities said,ACCORDING TO Coroner Walter Coppersmith, the infant girl’s body was found along Route 120 about 8/fOths of a mile west of Emporium at 8:45 a.m, Sunday. It was stuffed into a paper sack after being wrapped in a plastic bag and copies of both local weekly newspapers.The body was found, authorities said, by Lyle Freer of West Creek Rd,, who was inspecting a piece of ground along the highway Sunday morning.HE SAID the bag in which the body was wrapped was lying at the base of a tree some 18 feet from the highway. Authorities ■— including the district attorney and state police — said they believe the child was abandoned sometime late last week. An autopsy was immediately ordered and a coroner’s jury called to verify the death.
