File Charges Against S. D. Jail EscapeePIERRE (AP) - Kidnap and escape charges were filed late Friday against William Baker, 33, Louisiana, Hughes County State's Atty. Robert Hofer said Saturday.Baker allegedly kidnaped a state employe last Sunday when he broke out of the county jail here.Buddy Welch, 29, a supervisor in the State Motor Vehicle Department, told police Baker forced him at gunpoint to drive him out of Pierre before police overtook them in the Gettysburg area.Baker was being held on a charge of interstate transportation of a stolen motor vehicle.Hofer said Baker may be tried on the kidnap and escape charges in the June term of circuit court.Baker was taken to Sioux Falls after his recapture, but will be returned to Pierre the early part of this week.
