Mr. Stevens closed the state a case yesterday afternoon att- r placing: Ralph Hubbel and Howard Moore of the city force, and Undersheriff Jude Anderson and Deputy Sheriff George Price of the cityforce on the witness stand.The officers testified that Harding had voluntarily told them o* Scott’s guilt in ttip shooting ofJones and that Scott had told conflicting stories of his whereaboutsat the time of the chootmg and justprior to the murder.Wu Identified Apnl 14Anderson and Price told of taking Scott to the Jones home on the evening: of April 14 for identification purposes and stated that Mrs. Annie Jones, wife of the slain man, at that time positively identified Scott as the man who entered herhouse on the evening: of April I* and shot Mr. Jones.The defense assailed the state's identification testimony”' vigorously yefterdav afternoon after using: witnesses to establish the alibi that Scott was at his home at *27 Walnut street playing: bridge when Jones was killed.
