A BAD MINISTER.HS IS NOW A BOARDER INTHE NEWPORT JAIL.A Foarteen Year Old Girl Makes Serious Charsea Against Him.]Rev. Albert C Butcher, of Clinton,is now boarding with Sheriff Ste* phens. He was landed in jail by that official last Friday evening on account of being unable to give a fifteen hun* drcn dollar bond for his appearance at the next term of the Vermillion circuit court. He is charged with taking undue liberty with Ella Norton, a 14-year old girl, who has been | making her home with Rev. Butcher ^ since the death of her mother, about |two years ago. The feeling in Clin-1ton is very bitter against him, and at | present he is safer in jail that at ; home. In her statement the girl said \ he had been mistreating her for al- ; most a year. She has been taken in charge by the board of children’s guardians. |Rev. Butcher is 45 years old and 1 has grown children married. He or- j ganized a church r.f which he is pas- ;tor. which he call.s the United Tirctli- I ren in Union. He was expelled from ’ the U. B. church, of which he was a fnrmer pastor. |A lady from Fairview. just north of jClinton, was up here last Saturday,; and reports that the Rev. Butcher has been doing some missionary work in | the little village she hails from. Two ‘ young girls of that place are victims of this ministerial chicken eater and !spreader of the gospel. \
