A trip to the Alberson home elicited the following story from old Mr. Alberson: He says his sonCharles, who is about 29 years old, has lived for several years at or near North Liberty, and has been in trouble a number of times. Ten days or more ago lie came to his father’s place and has been there part of the time since.The younger son, James, returned a day or two ago from near Wanatah, where he lias been working, and Cbartes learned that ids half brother had some money. This morning James went to the barn to feed the stock and was followed by Charles, who demanded his money. Upon being refused he drew a knife and struck at the boy a time or two, but did not hurt him. About this time the oldman appeared and Charles attacked him swearing he would have money or kill somebody. The old man conducted a mastealy retreat to the house, where he secured a gun, but did not use it. Charles then returned to tbe barn and took *19, all be had. from James, and left the place, coming toward town 011 foot. Sheriff Harvey was notllled. but we are informedAbat the old gentleman refuted, to M***affidavit against his son, so the mattesWitK drooped.
