WINERY: Trustee requestedContinued from B1Tex-Cal Land has also been operating under Chapter 11 protection since filing a petition with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Houston, Texas, in December.There is confusion over the ownership of both firms. Bud Steele is president of Tex-Cal Land but has long claimed he did not own the company. But bankruptcy court records now' show him as the owner.Bella Rosa was purchased in 1983 by Tpv ral Land. Records filed withthe bankruptcy court show that Steve Steele purchased the winery in November. Both he and his uncle, Bud Steele, now claim that sale never occurred.On two different occasions the younger Steele has testified that he purchased the Bella Rosa stock. Asked about those statements Wednesday, he said the sale “was the intention of all the parties at the time. That was the situation to the best of my knowledge.”
