Last night Pendery called at police ! headquarters with Olliver and told Lieutenant Casey'that he desired the warrant withdrawn, as Olliver and he had made up their quarrel. Both young men were considerably astonished when the Lieutenant placed Olliver under arrest, explaining that he had no power to cancel a warrant is-■ued by Judge Athey. Pendery, evidently, ■was afraid he, too, would be jailed, for he turned and fled from the office before Lieutenant Casey had finished speaking. Olliver was locked up.
