He went to a mirror to examine the wound; then, telling witness he was going home, and for him to take care of the buggy and horse, he took his gun and left the j house, and witness saw biin no more.The witness went home by a circuitous route, taking the revolver, which bad not been discharged atall, with bim.Adda Bundy, who was betrothed to the deceased, and Lewis Means, a young colored mao, corroborated Evans as to the occurrences at the house. Miss Bundy followed tbe crowd that pursued Ladd, and saw several shots fired at him.! John Davis was on the street, and when tho firing commenced started in the store of James Tenrplin. Several other witnesses testified to seeing what transpired on the street.William and Henry Rozoil came out of tbe latter’s place, armed, and went to the Bundy House, whe^e the shooting begun. No one saw Ladd with any weapon or saw him fire a shot. Erastus Burch tracked Ladd through the snow in the evening, and found his gun,.undischarged, a quarter of a mile from the town. Doctors Rogers and Clapper, who conducted the post-mortem examination of the deceased, testified M to the nature of tbe wounds.
