About half-past ten, lleung, with two Chinese, one named Mar lvee and the other Tsze Tsoa Fat, came again, all of them going into a house adjoining the one occupied by witness and deceased; they waited until witness’ husband went out, when all three came to the door; witness told the girl to go to the window and see what they wanted; as soon as the girl looked out of the window, witness saw a man catch hold of her head and pull it out as far as possible; it was moonlight and witness saw the Hash of a bright instrument, a chopper, which Htung had in his hand; saw three rapid strokes of the axe as it struck the neck of the deceased; Mar Kee was the one who held the gil l’s head while the other chopped it. T. /. • Tsoa Fat was there, but could not see whether he did anything or not; witness shouted for help, and although several Chinese were on the street, none of them tried to do anything to stop the murderers. After the murder, witness went outside the house ami saw the head of the deceased hanging out of the window, it being attached to the trunk by a slight hit of llesli; the shoulders were resting on the window sill; the body was taken inside and laid on the floor; witness’ husband returned in about fifteen minutes and» gave the alarm to the police; witness stated positively that she saw the three men who did the killing, as the moon was vlt;* / bright nl the time, and kiv;hcni i n away • fter tin e ime wu eo.nmll.'d; the iwo men With 1 le i.»* live in a gambling bouse further down the street.N ip Tang, husband of the previous witness, gave evidence which corroborated hers.The jury returned the following verdict: “ \Yu find that Vow Kuin cameto her death by a wound on the back of her neck, made by a sharp instrument in the hand of some person or persons unknown, evidence pointing to Ah lieung, W ar Koe and Tsze Tsoa Fat. *As yet neither of the men implicated in the crime have been apprehended, but the police are hard at work, ami every avenue of escape is being well watched. The Chinese are giving all the assistance possible, and it is probable that the guilty men will soon be brought to justice.
