TO SLAYER!Negro, Guilty Of Manslaughter, Held In Jail ! At HuntsvilleHUNTSVILLE, Mav 11.—An angry mob milled about the courthouse here Thursday night when a jury in Judge Carl T. Harper* court found Pete Chester, negro, guilty on a manslaughter charge and *-seabed a penalty of four years in connection with slaying of P. P. ( Jones, Houston policeman, in 1927.Dissatisfaction with the verdict, which followed an Instruction on,manslaughter only by Judge Harper,was voiced freely about the courtroom, but the negro was spirited, into the state ixuutentiary before1 the muttered threats materialised.Cluster, once convicted on a murder charge in ilous* and given the t- th penalty, clait lt;self defense! during the trial, which came toj Huntsville from Houston on a change of venue.
