SuspectsMCapturedSteubenville patrolmen investigating a report of a burglary in progress at Robbie’s Cafe, 349 Union Ave., at 2:15 a.m. today apprehended two suspects at the cafe, police reported.A woman and a^young girl Who were discovered in an automobile that one of the suspects said was involved also were taken into custody by police.Police reported one of the suspects was apprehended when he came out of the front door of the bar as Patrolman . Guy Lamantia and Patrolman Joseph Birmingham approached on foot.Other Suspect SpottedBirmingham spotted the other suspect crawling on the floor inside the bar and he alerted Lamantia to watch the back of the building.At that time the man already in custody attempted to run | away, but he was caught by Birmingham, who recovered a gun that the man threw under a car. Police said tavern owner Tony Garafalo of 437 Union Ave. later identified the \gun as a blank gun that was in the bar.Hiding Behind FurnacePolice reported that in the meantime the suspect inside the buildine shut ana locked the back door, After other patrolmen arrived and surrounded the building, officers went inside and Patrolman Robert Morgan discovered the man hiding behind a furnace, police said.The man had a small crow bar that apparently was used to pry open the front door of the building, police said.Police reported the interior of the cafe was ransacked.Other officers assisting in the investigation included Capt. Ernest F. Underwood, Sgt. Tom Kopras, Patrolman Leon Stinson, Patrolman David Kalifut, Patrolman William Pilya, and Patrolman Michael Krynstynak.Charges were expected to be filed against the suspects in Steubenville Municipal Court today.
