'Dapper Dan Swindler Heldj CINCINNATI LfV-An expensivelydressed man, whom the FBI said'! had swindled several wealthy worn-1 en, w'as scheduled to be arraigned 1 today before a US. commissioner.Identified as James EdwardBlack, 37, he was arrested last night at his hotel. The FBI said he had netted about 5150,000 in swindles during the past few years.Tall, handsome and well dressed, Black gave his occupation as sales-j man. FBI agents said they found a three-inch wad of dummy money j in Black's suitcase, with a $20 bill! on top and a $10 bill on the bottom.M. W. MacFarlin, agent in charge of the Cincinnati FBI office, said Black has been indicted for swindles in Indianapolis in 1953, j for the $22,500 swindle of a Houston woman last Dec. 24, and in California for interstate transportation jof stolen property. iHe was arrested for false regis-; tration at the Hotel Netherland1 Plaza. The FBI said he was in Cincinnati to meet a wealthy South- j ern woman, who was not identified.Agents said Black sometimes used the name Eugene Fisher Londos.
