RUBE ALLYN’S HOUSEBurglarized Sunday Afternoon Be- jtween The Hours of 2:00 and 5:30O’clock—Thief SuspectedSometime between 2:00 and 5:30o’clock. Sunday afternoon, a thief entered the home of Rube Allyn, on Siesta Key, and after giving the house . a thorough ransacking, left, but not j untiL they had found $10.46, which he had left in-his trousers’ pocket. At about 2:00 o’clock, Mr. and Mrs. Allyn and their three sons, thought j they would go over to the Big Pass Key and take a surf bath, and it was* while they were gone that the theft was committed. Mr. Allyn is under the impression that; whoever did thejob was “on to” the fact that he had some money, and while he feels certain in his own mind who the guilty one is, he has no tangible proof, so has let the matter rest in abeyance until the thief gives himself away. Mr. Allyn immediately upon discovering the theft, notified Chief of Police Hodges, who is of the same opinion as Rube as to who the thief is.Mr. Allyn had just returned Friday from a lecture tour, and thinks that the one who entered his home saw him in a grocery Saturday night purchasing the Sunday supplies of edibles. Rube said this morning that he would not care so much about the money, but it means that he will have to get a hustle on himself again and give some more lectures, and he finds that this is not as pleasant as it might be, on account of the extremely hot weather which makes lecture work a little more strenuous than he likes at this time of the year.Rube is of the opinion that the bath that he and his family took Sunday afternoon, was a very expensive one. But he says that from now on he will be a little more careful and see that the doors of his house are fastened tight. He has also been missing chickens and ducks for quite a while, and thinks that the one who got his money is also getting the Fo-tffs. He intimated that he will give the thief the reception of his life if any more of this reprehensible purloining goes on.
