Sudden Departure of Will H, ThompsonFor Farts Unknown.Quite a sensation has been created in this city by the sudden departure of Will H. Thompson, a well-knownattorney, who came here from Craw-fordeyille about a year ago. Last Saturday morning Mr. Thompson procured a team at the stable of Conner Co., on South Lebanon street, for the alleged purpose of driving into the country a few miles to attend to some legal business. This was only a blind, however, and by a circuitous route he drove toThorutown, where he took the afternoon trainwest, and has not been heard of since.It is reported that Mr. Thompson hadin his possession between $1,600 and $2,000, Delonging to his clients. Robert Slocum is the heaviest loser, having advanced Thompson about $875 to make a tender in contemplated law suit. The balance is distributed among several clients, but the Pioneer is unable to learn the exact loss of each.Mr. Thompson is about thirty-live years old, and has a family consisting of ft wife and two little children. He is the son-in-law of John Lee, of CrwfordsviKe. He was considered a good lawyer, and was enjoying an excellent practice at the Boone countybar.
