10 91015L ELAND, Mich. Cfl — Mrs. Virginia Strohm. convicted April 2J of manslaughter in the drowning of her only child, Friday was sentenced by Leelanau circuit. Judge Charles Brown to nine to 15 years in prison.After a long lecture. Judge Brown asked her if she had any comment before sentence was passed. Mrs. Strohm answered: “I want to be punished as God ! may see is fair. I felt I should go to prison from the beginning of trial. I now have faith in God. I did not before.*'The 33-year-old Greilickville housewife, had pleaded temporary [\ insanity in her trial defense. Shewas charged with murder in theFeb. 29 death of her 22-month-old son, Robert. State police testified they found the child’s body underwater in a bathtub at the Strohm home where they were called by the mother.
