Lewis, 29, of Qien Moore. Chester county, wins the right to file an amended claim for a leged slander against T. Bayard Beatty, of/Wayne. The opinion alsoIe,^SuS ^ cla5m of. Beatty-that the suit be discontinued, because of the. law limiting action for slander to bc started within one year,It Is pointed out that the alleged slanderous remarks were made on March 12, 1929, and the original suit was instituted on October 26, 1529 wilhin the legal limit or time.rIhe original suit claimed that Mr Beatty and Sidney V. Rowland, both of them instructors' in the Radnor fownsnlp_ High School, had accused Miss Lewis of stealing from'a cash box in the school lunch room and' padding accounts for athletic material for a term of several years. Miss Lewis was coach and athletic director for girls for more than ten years, hut she claims she was farced to resign because of the accusations allege'1 to have been made by the two male instructors.It Is further claimed that the al-eged slander resulted from an attempt of one of the men to embrace the athletic director. Conspiracy bn the part of the two men was charged but m December, 1930, Judge \V Roger Fronefieki directed the elimination of the conspiracy charges.The amended claim names only Beatty, because it is held that action for slander cnnnol be instituted jointly against two persons.Ur:.-' further exceptions are taken by E. Henry Mofthffh, counsel for Lcatty, it is probable that the case will be heard at the September term of court. Attorney William C. Alexander represents Miss Lewis.
