The jury returned a verdict of guilty on two counts, convicting R. D. Parker of an attempt to murder his wife. Kate, formerly Mrs. George Flenner, and her daughter, Ollie, on the night of March 2, in this place, by employing one F. Dunn, of Abilene, to shoot into the window next to her bed at 11 o'clock at night. The general expression is that it is a right verdict. The case was tried in the district Judge 8mith presiding, and wae on just one week.
