M., gays that William Bonney, the famous desperado known os Billy the Kid, who escaped from jail by knocking down and killiug one guard and killing another with a gun, on April 30th, while on the road from Lincoln to the Pcnnsco river, met William Matthews and another J nun and killed them both. An oldI grudge had existed between Matthewsland the Kid, Matthews having shotthe latter m the leg three years ago while on duty as Deputy Sheriff, and also having been one of the party which raptured the Kid six m mths ago at Stiuking Springs. This makes four victims of the Kid iu one day. Sheriff Garrett, it is understood, is on Ins trail, and should the two men meet one of them will lie killed. Gov. Wallace hasoffered a reward of *500, the maximumallowed by law, for the capture of the Kid, and ha? telegraphed Gov. Ter-rusaca. of Chicauhany to keep a sharp lookout for him.
