Bender, 34, killed his wife Teresa, 28, and two of her co-workers, Glenitional Weather Service SundayPartly Cloudy, breezy, chance of t'stormsLohry, 40, and Rob Cornell, 27, before takinghisown 1 i feearly Monday morning..Teresa Bender had filed for divorce from her husband on April 29, just less, than a year into the couple’s turbulent marriage, Virgil Bender had threatenedand harassed Teresa Bender, and was*under a restraining order, after an incident April 13, where Virgil allegedly attempted to choke ills estranged wife, ttccording to police officials.He was scheduled to appear'in Winnebago County Circuit Court May 12 on batter)' charges.The. two other victims, Lohry and Cornell, worked with Teresa Bender at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, and had escorted her home for several previous nights because she said she feared for her life. The three had finished work at 11 p.m. and gone to a Oshkosh Tavern until 2 a.m., officials said.It is not yet known if the gentlemenfour victims were dead on the scene, Teresa Bender and her co-workers were each shot twice with a pump shotgun,and Virgil Bender apparently shot himself once in the head. Van Dc Hey said a forensic pathologist from Waukesha would-be assisting in the investigation.One male victim’s body was found in the sun porch, another in the living room and Teresa Bender’s body was found in the bedroom with Virgil Bender, police officials said.Police responded to an anonymous call at approximately 6 a.m. Monday morning, with caller saying they heard what was thought to be gunshotsatthe home.Police surrounded the house with their crisis response team and attempted communication at about 9 a.m. When attempts failed, police launcheddiversionary concussion grenades into the house, and stormed in. discovering the grisly scene.
