Three parked cars hitThree of the five accidents reported to Ames Police Monday involved parked cars.Wilfred McDonald Beardall, 70, Des Moines, was charged under thegeneral speed regulations requiring a driver to be able to stop in the assured clear distance after the 1975 Ford he was driving struck a 1972 Falcon owned by Earl and Leona Staniforth, 2222 Duff Ave., at 11:30 a.m. Monday. When struck, the Staniforth vehicle was pushed into a tree. There was $900 damage to the Beardall's vehicle, $300 to the Staniforth car and $75 damageto the tree at the Staniforth DroDertv
