Thornburg.- Drops. The trouble that has existed between Isaiah Silvers and Silas Miller, of Franklin Township, for several years past, was brought to a close last Saturday afternoou by the shooting of Silvers by.Miller. The shooting occurred on or adjoining Miller’s farm about two and one half miles west of Ridgevilie and was witnessed by John Hester, Constable of Frauklin Township, Anderson Slusher and Charles May. Hester had gone there for the purpose of levying on soino personal property of Miller’s to satisfy an execution in his hands, and was accompanied by Slusher, who was replevin bail on the judgment, and had gone for the purpose of showing the constable what property to levy on. They were overtaken on the road by Silvers, who insisted on going with them. Hester and Slusher were aware of the trouble between Silvers and Miller, and warned the former not to go with them, and fearing trouble told him to go home and attend to his own business. This he failed to do, and when they turned oil the pike to go to Miller’s house they were met by Miller and Charley May. [May was also replevin bail for Miller on another judgment and had taken a chattel mortgage on property to secure himself and was at Miller’s for the purpose of seeing that the Constable did not levy on the property so mortgaged.] When Miller saw Silvers, he ordered him ofl his premises, saying that he had had trouble enough with him. Silvers who was sittingdowu, raised up aud put his hapd in his right hand coat pocket, as if to draw his revolver walking toward the. road as he did so. Miller saw him put his hand in his pocket and fearing he was going to draw his revolver, cot at him three times, the first and hist shots striking him, one ball entering his body just below his right shoulder and the other near the right bip* The wounded man walked a few steps farther and fell dead. Miller was arrested and taken before Justice Long atRidge-yille, who, after hearing the evidence, sent him to jail without bail.Coroner Evans was notified aud held an inquest, returning his verdict that Isriah Silvers came to his death from two pistol shots fired by the bands of Silas Miller.A 44 caliber six shooting revolver was found in the right band coat pocket of the deceased, all the chambers being loaded. The parties to this sad affair were closely related, Mille: being the son of a sister of Silvers, aud the origin of the trouibe grew out of the fact that David Silvers, father of Isaiah Silvers audSince his last Sumption has r lections: delin first installmei 613.29; pike tax pike tax, $351 These collectioi expected, whicl much smaller tImprudenci prolific souri should he esp« we eat nowad partake of un; with us, shoi plying the ne Abel Whitby Y., writes: “I from inflama and imprudei ing only two Herb Bi'tters, not since beernausea or vouIn last wee City Times, 1 F.
