A BarglaTjad #lie Thieve* Arrested. The store room of Capt, J. S. Nesbit, in West Indiana, was broken into on Monday night, or rather Tuesday morning, the goods scattered around on the floor as if the parties liad been in a muss, and a large quantity carried away, probably amounting to over $150. The thieves ob-tainod*au entrance by breaking in a large pane of glass it} tlio front door. Early onTuesday morning the burglary was discovered, and a careful survey of the premises and tho surroundings led Lo the speedy detection of the oerpolrators. It was apparent from the tracks made that there were at least three persons in the gang, and they were tracked down Gom-per’a alley to the rear of the residence of Jane Dixon, in the east end. Warrants were obtained and the Sheriffs deputies arrested the notorious James Myers and Kale Palmer, as two of the parties, and Mrs. Jane Dixon and Scott Dixon, her son, the first on the charge of receiving stolen goods, and the latter as having some knowledge of the matter. Jn default of bail Mrs. Dixon was committed to Jail. James Myers and Kate Palmer are old offenders, and a pair of the stolen boots which had been worn by Myers was found in a water closet on the premises of David Myers. A portion of the goods, which had evidently been-dropped, were found along the street, and the larger portion of them found in the house of Jane Dixon. The latter party says that she found the goods on her premises, and carried them in to return lo the rightful owner. It is not generally believed that Scott Dixon, who has hitherto borne a good character for honesty, had anything to do with the burglary and theft, but It is thought that a younger brother, who left on Tuesday morning on the early train for Lalrobet was the third party tracked to the house of Mrs. Dixan. The prompt arrost of those parties is a matter for congratulation, aud we hope that all of thorn will got their just deserts. It was a bold stroke of stealing, but exceedingly stupid and badly managed.8colt Dixcn, a hard-working young man, readily obtained ball for a preliminary hearing on Friday. Mrs, Djxon was j released on bail on Wednesday, and denies any guilty participation in the crime | committed. A bearing will be had on I Friday before Esquire Row.
