Tilburn, former pastor of the Linton Christian church, who has been in Jail here for several months awaiting trial on the charge of embezzling church funds, Is now er. route to Butte, Mont., to rejoin his wife, who has been living there since the minister has been in trouble.It is said that he paid Miss Mary Smith, of Linton, the former church organist whom he took with him to California, the sum of $200, ; and paid the church the amount It claimed was due.' It is said Tilburn appeared to; have plenty of money before he left.! Tilburn said he would attempt to ; live down the scandal and disgrace | and that he would be another man from now on. Tilburn was confin-( ed in jail for five months and his j long incarceration has materially af-i fected his physical condition.
