One of the boldest and moat successful hold-ups that have taken place in Los Angeles for a long time occurred shortly after midnight last night when James S. Donald, who lives at 775 Ceres Avenue, was robbed of a gold watch and $140 in coin.Donald was walking home and was within a few feet of his house, when he was accosted by two men who ordered him to give them what valuables he had. One of the men kept his gun pointed at Donald’s face, while the other, who also carried a gun, went through his pockets.Donald offered no resistance, hut permitted the highwaymen to take a gold hunting case watch, a heavy gold watch chain and a purse containing two fifty dollar bills and forty dollars in loose gold.Donald reported the hold-up to thepolice shortly after it occurred andgave an accurate description of bothmen. He said that neither of themwore masks, which will make it aneasy matter for him to identify themshould they be arrested. — — .
