(UPI) - Officer Tom Casey has been • named acting chief of the Knox police department, replacing the .suspended Harley Hanselman who has been, indicted for malfeasance charges....The suspension was announced Saturday by Mayor Ray Braman after Hanselman and four other persons were indicted by a Starke County grand jury n cointnuing crime probe,bringing to 14. the number of persons charged. . .Hanseman was charged ^ithmalfeasance of office in connection with alleged thefts and association with other persons implicated by the investigation* Indictments for auto' theft were returned against Gene Patrick. Knox, and fns.vwife, Deborah. Patrick is an employe of a body shop here. •• Edward Ronkowsld, Homewood, HI., operator of a truck stop on U.S;' 30 near here, was indicted on charges of trying .to j bribe a policeman. . ' ^A1 Dimmock Jr., reportedly an employe of Ronkow'ski* w'aS charged with auto theft .All five have been released on bond.
