COOK’S CAPTURE.Bell Moon’s Hopefni Son,Gobbled Bp in Minnesota, and Brong-ht to Eu Claire.|Sheriff Cook returned on Sunday from his long and faithful search for the thieves who stole the horses from Fletcher and Wyman. From, Galos-vilie, where they sold Fletcher’s borse and bought a buggy, the thieves struck for the Mississippi river at Winona, where Moon crossed with the horse and buggy while Frank Shepherd, his more wiley partner, took a skiff a little farther up. At Winona they sold their rig and separated. Moon, with the horse, started toward Spring Valley. while. Shepherd went in another direction. When near that place Moon sold the horse to the deputy sheriff of the county for $4B, receiving in cash. He concluded however that lie would push on and not wait for tne balance. He smuggled himself into an empty box car on a freight train, and reached . Wells, about 1-10 miles west of La Crosse, on Saturday morning, tired and hungry. Here he was recognized and arrested, fn the meantime Sheriff Cook continued the pursuit and arrived at Wells soon after and look charge of the prisoner. He reaceed Eau Claire in safety and lodged inthe county jail on Sunday afternoon. When he entered, the young ! maxi’s father, Dell Moon, who is confined on .1 serious charge, was a good deal suprised. Doubtless lie was astonished that a young man who had enjoyed the advantages of good: moral training under the parental roof 3hould turn out so badly. | It is understood that Dell will make it warm for Shepherd if he ever gets an opportunity. As young Moou acknowledges his guilt he will go over the road at an early day, a rather bad begining for a youth of nineteen.
