KNOX POLICE CHIEF INDICTED IN MISCONDUCTKNOX, Ind. (AP) — Knox Police Chief Harley Hanselman is free on bond today after being indicted on a charge of malfeasance in office in connection with an investigation of theft, prostitution and gambling in Starke County.Mayor Raymond A. Braman, who said he had no idea the indictment was coming until the arrest was made, suspended the chief until the matLer is settled.Hanselman and four others were named in secret indictments returned by the grand jury Thursday. The jury has indicted 14 persons in connection with a month-long investigation which started after a state police raid at a Hamlet hotel. ; •Others charged in the latest indictments and arrested Friday night were Edward Ron-kowski, Homewood, III., owner of a truck stop north of Knox; Gene Patrick and his wife, Deborah, and AL Eimmock Jr., all of Starke County.Ronkowski is charged with brifary. Patrick is charged with ■perjury and auto theft; Mrs. Patrick and Eimmock arecharged with auto theft.The grand jury has recessel but is expected U, 'resume the investigation later.
