That he has been successful is evidenced from the fact that he has threatened to kill himself, and when friends have interfered and tried to prevent him, he has flourished a revolver at them. Last night he left his rooms at the hotel in which he was stopping and visited the east end of the town. His friends engaged John Dingman, a private detective to remove him to his hotel, but when the sleuth attempted this a revolver was flashed by Halle, with the remark that he would kill anyone attempting to lay hands on him. Ilalie ran up an aliey and eluded the detective and has not since been heard from.
