A timely visit to the Jail by Night Marshal McDonald at Monte Vista prevented the suicide of Walter Taylor, a convicted bootlegger, who was committed to Jail in default of payment of a fine of $200 and costs by Police Magistrate W. F. Ilntdiclder. Taylor conducted a lunch stund on the principul street, and for months had been selling liquor, police allege.
