3ny Finds Way Into Public Library But It Proves Poor Place For a BuddingBurglar.)MINISTER ROBBER OF WATCHA valuable gold watch the property of Miss Amelia JDod-dridge, daughter of Dr. J. H. Doddridge, was taken from the parsonage of Wall street M. E. church Friday due to misplacedconfidence on the part of the pastor in a stranger who came looking for work. The visitor was a nice appearing young fel low who represented himself as a painter and asked the aid of Dr. Doddridge in securing employment. He was sent to Fred Miller with instructions to come back if he failed there. Soon he (returned saying Mr. Miller had all the help he needed and he 1 was told to wait in the parlor while the family finished breakfast. When Dr. Doddridge went to look for him he had gone and there was also missing a lady’s gold watch with the name A.Doddridge on the back and about $1.50 in cash had also gone. The police were notified but so far | neither stranger nor watch has j been recovered.The township public librarywas robbed a night or two ago,J persumably by a small boy. Entrance was secured through theeast window into the children’s department in the east wing, the young thief taking a trestle from the adjacent federal building, now in course of erection, in order to permit him to climb up. He then removed the bottom from the cash drawer with a knife and took the contents which amounted to two or three dollars paid in as fines, etc. There is a good clew to the thief and if the necessary proof is secured he will be arrested.
