Murder,!—A ran: tier of a most ngcra-. vated character look place 011 Thursday last, at the stone house, kept as a tavern by- Mr. Vincent Owens, on the bank of the Monongah’ela river in this county. About 4 o’clock, the father of Mr. Owens, quite an aged man, had arisen, and went down slairs._ Here he was attacked by a stranger who had been entertained in the house over night. Old Mr. Owens was found lying in a lower room with his throat'cut and quite dead. We understand Mr. V. Owens and sister, who had been awakened by the noise, also received wounds in a scuffle with the murderer, who made bis escape soon after.
