AGENTS RAIDFARMHOUSE INSPA VICINITYGovernment Officials SayThose Sought Not ThereBut This Disputedi\rGAS BOMBS USEDiVG-Men Seized Complete Oiarge of Lake Catherine Area Where Hat pis TracedIaa9iMot Springs, March 30 (/Pf-Department of justice agents today surrounded and seized a farmhouse on the Malvern road near here with a barrage of gas bombs, but reported that the persons they had sought “were not there”.A report persisted, however, that a capture had been made.The agents insisted the house was found to be empty when they occupied it.Against this announcement,however, was the report to the sheriff’s office in Hot Springs by a man who claimed to have been passing the house at the time of the attack that he had seen a manand two women taken from the1house. He said they were rushed away in a fast car.The agents gave no hint of the j identities of the person or persons sought. fThe raid occurred within a few . miles of the Lake Hamilton resort cabin south of Hot Springs where i federal men were reported last October to have traced the notor-1 ious Alvin Karpis, wanted for the $200,000 Edward G. Bremer kidnaping at St. Paul in 1934.
