IT.Attempted Murder on Alamo Plaza.--This morning, at 4 o’ctyck, Officer ZieglerA searrested a man named Charles Staeppenbachat 5812.near Schilling’s saloon, for being drunk and—Adisorderly, and put him under a bond. ZiegNo. 5cler met him soon after, and Staeppenbach had—n^rmy:had a shotgun and threatened to kill him.you setr theZiegler seized the gun and took it from him,attempting, at the same time, to arrest Rim.Freslr. 30-Staeppenbach drew a revolver, ran and firedalwaysTHF.Rat Ziegler, but missed him. At the same time he entered Fred. Wilke's hack, and was—Ge H. Kloidydriven off. As he was entering the hack,it, 22 SZiegler fired on Staeppenbach, but did not hithim.
